Five years ago, that’s exactly what I set out to do; to be the best possible version of myself.

I decided I wanted to have my own business in partnership with my wife.
We achieved it in 3 years!  We now have a team of 10!

Choose to Make It Work

What we didn’t expect was the roller coaster that lay ahead. My wife and business partner became very sick (chronic illness and a heart condition). She could no longer work and we found ourselves dealing with health challenges, a huge mortgage, one income, a lack of confidence and all these challenges put a huge strain on our relationship. The hope of our business could now easily have become a dim memory, but it didn’t.

These unexpected challenges led us both to unexpected crossroads. 

1.  Was the dream of our business now impossible? Should we give up?
2.  Should we accept life the way it is?
3.  Could we still make it work? 

We chose to make it work. It has not been easy but nothing that is worthwhile, ever is!

The Leadership Zone

As leaders we are regularly challenged with difficult situations. The key is how we navigate these situations whilst still inspiring those around us. 

I have created a unique model which has a series of zones where leaders have found themselves.  What zone do you currently fit into?

I’m confident that you can identify with one of these zones or perhaps you have already passed through the first few. Once you know what zone you are in, the next step is to find out how to progress to the next one, and the one after.

After 20 plus years’ experience in studying leadership and becoming one, I have created a unique and powerful set of guidelines to help you ascend through these zones.

If you are reading this, I feel confident that you are not in the ‘No Show’ zone. Those people are still at home, keeping themselves ‘safe’ from opportunity.

Our Brands and Successes

MR MC Events 

As the eldest sibling, I was obligated to host my sister's rather large wedding (the classic “Big Fat Indian Wedding'' that was a 3 day event with more than 450 guests) in 2014. I failed in many areas. However, I realised very quickly how many moving parts there were to weddings. From the various vendors, opinionated family members, tight timelines to an emotionally charged bride and groom. 

At stake was years’ worth of life savings, long hours of planning, challenges posed by vendors, family expectations and dreams of the couple. We realized that this challenge wasn’t just faced by my family but many others who were planning weddings.  Managing the above required core leadership skills – strategic thinking, effective communication, commitment, time management and managing expectations.  Qualities we possessed as a couple. There wasn’t any company in our niche market that was providing an end-to-end wedding planning service –this gave birth to our first brand – MR MC Events. 

There were various challenges along the way. Ideas flew around like fireworks.

However, with sheer determination and perseverance, in just a short time our brand has become a household name within our target audience. We have a team of 10 who now partner with 75 - 80 beautiful families yearly to create stress free, memorable, dream weddings.

Better Version of You

We were inspired by the difficulties we experienced in our own lives. Disruptions with building our successful events business, personal challenges faced by our clients and the huge implications of Covid-19 to people in 2020 showed us there was another void in our niche market. A platform to advocate abundant and purposeful living. A platform to give people hope in challenging times and to inspire them to step into their greatness whilst still going through uncertainty. 

Using innovation, technology and a passion to speak and inspire people, our second brand Better Version of You was born in the midst of turmoil of Covid-19 lockdowns. We started a new brand of workshops, virtual initially and later face to face to empower, enlighten and encourage people to believe in themselves, unleash their potential, find their purpose and step into their dreams. 

Our brand is a huge success and this is reflected in the 40,000+ people we have reached globally in just our first year. To date we have designed and facilitated 4 workshops and have empowered more than 100 people from professional workers, business leaders and entrepreneurs. 

I feel that I still move between the ‘Give it a Go’ and the ‘Get on with the Show’ zones, and they’re great places to be. 

Our Better Version of You platform stands on the pillars of Identity, Relationships, Fulfillment and Wellbeing. We emphasise the importance of having balance in life relating to the above pillars. 

Remember no one can do you like you can do you. Nelson Mandela said,

“As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same”.

Bio

Pritesh Chandra is an experienced Technology Specialist, Speaker, Facilitator, Life Coach and MC. He is driven by the motivation and challenges of his parents' hard work and determination to move to New Zealand from Fiji.

Pritesh takes a lot of pride in adding value to the lives of people around him by sharing learnings from his own life struggles. His goal is to empower other leaders to be a better version of themselves and lead an abundant life.
